Software support team
The OPALS community’s cooperative support and update fees support a team of full time, experienced software engineers to ensure orderly system development and a steady stream of updates that empower librarians to manage and broadcast resources as they are, and as they evolve.
OPALS programmers are dedicated to librarians using the ILS and focus each working day on priorities set by the community.
Thanks to this dedicated team, and their orchestration of developments from a worldwide open source community, new features and improvements are added almost every month. This development model has allowed the system to renew itself incrementally, without disrupting daily library operations or assessing costly “new-system” licensing fees.
