Franklin-Essex-Hamilton School Library System supports OPALS resource-sharing, union catalog. The union catalog facilitates inter-library loans, collection development and cataloging for schools in our region.
We also support the use of OPALS open source software in most of our school libraries to automate day to day library management functions and broadcast customized, authentic information resources over the Web to students and teachers.
Franklin-Essex-Hamilton School Library System was one of seven regions that helped to develop “SEARCH”… a single login, information database management system that aggregates all subscription databases on one page, provides easy in-library and remote login access to all of them, and consolidates use-statistics reports.
