ESBOCES School Library System supports OPALS resource-sharing, union catalog that provides access and facilitates resource sharing for schools in our learning and teaching community.
We also support and host OPALS open-source software in over 60 of our school libraries. OPALS automates day to day library management and broadcasts authentic information resources via the Web to students and teachers at each location.
ESBOCES School Library System pioneered “VRC” (Virtual Reference Center)… a single login, information database management system that aggregates all subscription databases on one page, provides easy in-library and remote login access to all of them, and consolidates use-statistics reports.
